The 7th and final clean hydrogen hub is the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub, spanning 3 states. The hub will exclusively produce clean hydrogen using the PNW’s vast renewable resources.

The sixth regional clean hydrogen hub is MachH2. This hub will help support decarbonisation in Midwestern transportation and power generation industries.

The fifth regional clean hydrogen hub is the Heartland Hydrogen Hub. This hub will help develop the use of clean hydrogen in the agriculture sector and decrease the regional cost of hydrogen in the Heartland region of the US.

The fourth of the 7 regional clean hydrogen hubs is the Gulf Coast Hydrogen Hub. The hub will help develop large scale hydrogen production using the available renewables in the Gulf Coast region of the US.

The third regional clean hydrogen hubs is based in California and called ARCHES. This hub will solely produce hydrogen from renewable energy and biomass, and lead the way in decarbonizing the transportation and mobility sectors.

The second regional clean hydrogen hub is ARCH2. The hub will be a production and distribution centre, producing low-cost hydrogen and being set up to effectively distribute it due to its strategic location.

In October, US President Joe Biden and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm announced the 7 regional clean hydrogen hubs to receive $7 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding.
