Suiso signifie hydrog\u00e8ne en japonais.\u00a0<\/p><p>Le voyage de Suiso Frontier de plus de 9 000 km faisait partie d&#039;un projet pilote (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hystra.or.jp\/en\/project\/\">HESC\u00a0: Projet de cha\u00eene d&#039;approvisionnement en \u00e9nergie hydrog\u00e8ne<\/a><sup>1<\/sup>) par un consortium d&#039;entreprises japonaises et australiennes et soutenu par leurs gouvernements pour transporter \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne produit et liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9 en Australie vers le Japon. L&#039;objectif \u00e9tait de d\u00e9montrer la viabilit\u00e9 technique d&#039;une telle cha\u00eene d&#039;approvisionnement internationale en hydrog\u00e8ne et de viser une commercialisation ciblant le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2030.<\/p><p>La construction du navire a \u00e9t\u00e9 achev\u00e9e en 2020, con\u00e7ue et construite en utilisant les connaissances techniques de Kawasaki Heavy Industries (Kawasaki), membre fondateur du Hydrogen Council. Le pr\u00e9sident de Kawasaki, Yoshinori Kanehana, est actuellement copr\u00e9sident du conseil.<\/p><p>Les efforts de Kawasaki dans l&#039;industrie de l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne ont commenc\u00e9 en 2010. En exploitant la synergie des technologies du groupe Kawasaki, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9veloppe des technologies et des produits n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la cha\u00eene d&#039;approvisionnement en \u00e9nergie hydrog\u00e8ne - de la production au transport, au stockage et \u00e0 l&#039;utilisation, en collaboration avec de nombreuses entreprises partenaires.<\/p><p>&quot;Vous avez besoin de toutes les technologies - des liqu\u00e9facteurs, du syst\u00e8me de chargement, des r\u00e9servoirs de stockage, des remorques et plus encore - pour \u00e9tablir une cha\u00eene d&#039;approvisionnement en hydrog\u00e8ne&quot;, explique Motohiko Nishimura, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral adjoint de la division Strat\u00e9gie hydrog\u00e8ne de Kawasaki. &quot;Mais la seule chose qui manquait au monde jusqu&#039;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent \u00e9tait un navire transporteur. Environ 75 tonnes d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9 peuvent \u00eatre transport\u00e9es en un seul voyage.<\/p><p>Pour transporter de mani\u00e8re stable l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9 cryog\u00e9nique, en maintenant la temp\u00e9rature pendant le voyage, la citerne \u00e0 cargaison adopte une structure \u00e0 double paroi isol\u00e9e sous vide. Les technologies pour les performances d&#039;isolation thermique \u00e9lev\u00e9es sont fond\u00e9es sur les d\u00e9cennies d&#039;exp\u00e9rience de Kawasaki dans le transport maritime de gaz naturel liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9 ainsi que sur plus de 30 ans d&#039;exp\u00e9rience dans la manipulation de l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9 cryog\u00e9nique comme carburant de fus\u00e9e.<\/p><p>L&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne est une importation attrayante pour des pays comme le Japon qui visent la d\u00e9carbonation mais qui manquent des ressources renouvelables n\u00e9cessaires pour devenir autosuffisants.\u00a0<\/p><p>Alors que le premier objectif est que le Japon parvienne \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, Nishimura pense que l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne est \u00e9galement une option prometteuse pour les voisins du Japon en raison de leurs fortes densit\u00e9s de consommation d&#039;\u00e9nergie.\u00a0<\/p><p>&quot;La Cor\u00e9e, Ta\u00efwan, la Tha\u00eflande et la Chine c\u00f4ti\u00e8re utilisent d\u00e9sormais du gaz naturel liquide, mais ils visent \u00e0 z\u00e9ro \u00e9mission de carbone d&#039;ici le milieu du si\u00e8cle&quot;, d\u00e9clare Nishimura. &quot;Nous aimerions contribuer \u00e0 la d\u00e9carbonisation de ces pays ainsi que du Japon.&quot;<\/p><p>Le voyage de retour r\u00e9ussi de Suiso Frontier est une \u00e9tape importante sur la voie de la mise en place de cha\u00eenes d&#039;approvisionnement commercialement viables pour le march\u00e9 de l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne, qui devrait se d\u00e9velopper \u00e0 l&#039;avenir.<\/p><p>&quot;La prochaine phase du projet est d\u00e9j\u00e0 en cours pour construire un transporteur d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9chelle commerciale d&#039;ici le milieu des ann\u00e9es 2020, dans le but de devenir commercial au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2030&quot;, explique Nishimura.
