\u00a0In a changing energy world,\u00a0this is a major strategic opportunity.

Ahead of the Canadian Hydrogen Convention<\/a> in Edmonton,\u00a0where our CEO Ivana Jemelkova<\/a> will speaking\u00a0today,\u00a0Hydrogen Council\u2019s\u00a0data\u00a0as of\u00a0September 2025\u00a0highlights Canada’s growing hydrogen landscape:

\ud83d\udcb0\u00a0$6.6 billion\u00a0in committed investment
\ud83d\udcca 0.75 Mtpa of committed clean hydrogen capacity
\u267b\ufe0f 97% low-carbon\u00a0hydrogen\u00a0with vast wind resources priming Canada for future export leadership

So,\u00a0what does this look like on the ground?\u00a0With major projects from Air Liquide,\u00a0Air Products,\u00a0Linde and\u00a0Shell\u00a0and others either in operation or under development, Canada is already home to some of the world’s most significant clean hydrogen and CCUS infrastructure.\u00a0For example:

Air Liquide<\/a> has been building its B\u00e9cancour platform since 2021, combining an already operational\u00a020MW PEM\u00a0electrolyzer\u00a0with a new low-carbon gas production complex – creating one of North America’s most integrated clean hydrogen and industrial gas hubs.

Air Products<\/a> is advancing construction on\u00a0a\u00a0CAD\u00a0$1.6 billion\u00a0net-zero hydrogen energy complex in Edmonton \u2013 combining large-scale production with existing pipeline infrastructure to decarbonize refining, enable heavy-duty transport, and drive regional economic growth.

Linde<\/a> is investing more than\u00a0$2 billion\u00a0to build a new integrated clean hydrogen facility in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland to supply Dow’s Path2Zero project. Upon its completion in 2028, it will be Canada’s largest clean hydrogen production facility and one of the largest globally, capturing more than 2 million metric tons of CO\u2082 annually.

Shell<\/a> Canada’s Quest CCS facility\u00a0has been\u00a0in operation since 2015 safely storing CO\u2082 from hydrogen production and sharing learnings to accelerate wider deployment across the industry.\u00a0It has now stored over 10 million tons of CO\u2082

The bigger picture?
\u2705 Pragmatic, scalable deployment pathways are taking shape
\u2705 Low-carbon production and CCUS are delivering near-term impact
\u2705 Renewable potential positions Canada as a future export leader
Policy, infrastructure, and demand creation will\u00a0determine\u00a0how fast this momentum scales,\u00a0but the foundation is being laid.
