BRUSSELS, December 16, 2024 <\/strong>–\u00a0The Hydrogen Council<\/a> is delighted to announce Masdar, Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia as its newest Board members, further strengthening the global CEO-led organisation\u2019s diverse and influential leadership. The new board composition will be effective as of 1 January 2025.<\/p>\n

The Hydrogen Council Board is represented at the highest level by global CEOs committed to providing the necessary leadership to set a powerful vision and accelerate decisive action on hydrogen for the benefit of the energy transition. As the first Board member from the Middle East, Masdar will bring valuable insights on the ambition and investment progress in the region, while Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia bring expertise in electrolysers and ammonia production respectively.<\/p>\n

Jaehoon Chang, CEO of Hyundai <\/strong>and Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Linde, Co-Chairs of the Hydrogen Council<\/strong> jointly welcomed the newly appointed Board members, stating, \u2018We are pleased to welcome Masdar, Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia to the Board and work together as we guide the sector through a pivotal time for the energy transition. Hydrogen has made encouraging progress, with record levels of committed capital and projects past Final Investment Decision reported globally in 2024. However, over the next two years, regulatory stability, clear demand signals and global standardisation will be key to maintaining a robust scale-up trajectory and unlocking hydrogen\u2019s full economic and societal benefits. We look forward to collaborating with the entire Board to tackle these challenges and driving the hydrogen industry forward together.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Anne-Laure Parrical de Chammard, Member of the Executive Board at Siemens Energy, <\/strong>declared: \u2018While we all agree that the energy transition will not succeed without clean molecules, we face numerous challenges and uncertainties as we grow our new industry. It has never been more important to pool the experience and strengths of our sector to get the ramp-up of the hydrogen industry back on track. I am honoured to shape this path together with all members of the Hydrogen Council on behalf of Siemens Energy.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Hans Olav Raen, CEO of Yara Clean Ammonia, <\/strong>stated: \u2018Growing the hydrogen industry will require collaboration and partnerships across the value chains. There is a need to align standards, regulations and certification to ensure predictability and clarity for both project developers and customers. YCA is the world’s largest ammonia distributor, and I am honoured to be able to contribute to, and work with the Hydrogen Council to enable the industry growth.<\/em>\u2019<\/p>\n

Masdar, Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia will serve alongside Air Liquide, Anglo American, Cummins Inc., and Toyota Motor Corporation who have been re-elected for another term, as well as Engie, Hyundai Motor Company, Johnson Matthey, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Linde, Sasol, Sinopec, and Topsoe whose mandates are ongoing.<\/p>\n

Ivana Jemelkova, CEO of the Hydrogen Council<\/strong>, said, \u2018The Hydrogen Council is fortunate to have a very active and engaged Board. I am delighted to see these strong new additions as well as a renewed commitment from our current Board members.
