The IEA is at the heart of global dialogue on energy, providing authoritative analysis, data, policy recommendations, and real-world solutions to help countries provide secure and sustainable energy for all. It was created in 1974 to help co-ordinate a collective response to major disruptions in the supply of oil.

Taking an all-fuels, all-technology approach, the IEA recommends policies that enhance the reliability, affordability and sustainability of energy.

IEA Hydrogen, founded in 1977, is a global research and innovation collaboration in hydrogen science and technology. Its vision is a hydrogen future based on a clean sustainable energy supply of global proportions that plays a key role in all sectors of the economy. Its mission is to accelerate hydrogen deployment and use through R,D&D, analysis and outreach.

IEA Hydrogen membership consists of Contracting Parties (governments and international organizations) and Sponsors (industry, public-private partnerships and associations), including the Hydrogen Council. The member-driven IEA Hydrogen portfolio is organized in tasks and supporting outreach and analysis activities. The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) is a high-level global forum to promote policies and programs that advance clean energy technology, to share lessons learned and best practices, and to encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy.

Initiatives are based on areas of common interest among participating governments and other stakeholders. The Framework for the Clean Energy Ministerial, adopted at the seventh Clean Energy Ministerial in 2016, defines the CEM governance structure and outlines the mission statement, objectives, membership, and guiding principles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organization that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future, and serves as the principal platform for international cooperation, a center of excellence, and a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge on renewable energy.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with a unique mandate to promote, dynamize and accelerate sustainable industrial development.<\/p>

The mandate of UNIDO is reflected in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: \u201cBuild resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation\u201d, but UNIDO\u2019s activities contribute to all the SDGs. Mission Innovation (MI) is a global initiative of 24 countries and the European Commission (on behalf of the European Union) working to reinvigorate and accelerate global clean energy innovation with the objective to make clean energy widely affordable. MI was announced at COP21 on November 30, 2015, as world leaders came together in Paris to commit to ambitious efforts to combat climate change.
