Suiso bedeutet auf Japanisch Wasserstoff.\u00a0<\/p><p>Die \u00fcber 9.000 km lange Reise von Suiso Frontier war Teil eines Pilotprojekts (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hystra.or.jp\/en\/project\/\">HESC: Wasserstoffenergieversorgungskettenprojekt<\/a><sup>1<\/sup>) von einem Konsortium japanischer und australischer Unternehmen und unterst\u00fctzt von ihren Regierungen, um in Australien produzierten und verfl\u00fcssigten Wasserstoff in gro\u00dfem Ma\u00dfstab nach Japan zu transportieren. Ziel war es, die technische Realisierbarkeit einer solchen internationalen Wasserstoffversorgungskette zu demonstrieren und eine Kommerzialisierung anzustreben, die auf Anfang der 2030er Jahre abzielt.<\/p><p>Der Schiffsbau wurde 2020 abgeschlossen und mit dem technischen Wissen von Kawasaki Heavy Industries (Kawasaki), einem Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied des Hydrogen Council, entworfen und gebaut. Der Vorsitzende von Kawasaki, Yoshinori Kanehana, ist derzeit Co-Vorsitzender des Rates.<\/p><p>Kawasakis Bem\u00fchungen in der Wasserstoffindustrie begannen im Jahr 2010. Durch Nutzung der Synergien der Technologien der Kawasaki-Gruppe entwickelt das Unternehmen zusammen mit vielen Partnerunternehmen Technologien und Produkte, die f\u00fcr die Wasserstoff-Energieversorgungskette ben\u00f6tigt werden \u2013 von der Produktion bis zum Transport, zur Speicherung und Nutzung.<\/p><p>\u201eSie brauchen alle Technologien \u2013 von Verfl\u00fcssigern, Ladesystemen, Lagertanks, Anh\u00e4ngern und mehr \u2013 um eine Wasserstoffversorgungskette aufzubauen\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Motohiko Nishimura, Executive Officer und Deputy General Manager der Hydrogen Strategy Division von Kawasaki. \u201eAber das Einzige, was der Welt bisher gefehlt hat, war ein Tr\u00e4gerschiff. Auf einer Reise k\u00f6nnen rund 75 Tonnen Fl\u00fcssigwasserstoff transportiert werden.<\/p><p>Um kryogen verfl\u00fcssigten Wasserstoff stabil zu transportieren und die Temperatur w\u00e4hrend der Fahrt aufrechtzuerhalten, nimmt der Ladetank eine vakuumisolierte Doppelwandstruktur an. Die Technologien f\u00fcr die hohe W\u00e4rmed\u00e4mmleistung basieren auf Kawasakis jahrzehntelanger Geschichte im Seetransport von verfl\u00fcssigtem Erdgas sowie auf \u00fcber 30 Jahren Erfahrung im Umgang mit tiefkalt verfl\u00fcssigtem Wasserstoff als Raketentreibstoff.<\/p><p>Wasserstoff ist ein attraktiver Import f\u00fcr L\u00e4nder wie Japan, die eine Dekarbonisierung anstreben, aber nicht \u00fcber die erneuerbaren Ressourcen verf\u00fcgen, um autark zu werden.\u00a0<\/p><p>W\u00e4hrend das erste Ziel f\u00fcr Japan darin besteht, Energiesicherheit zu erreichen, glaubt Nishimura, dass Wasserstoff aufgrund ihrer hohen Energieverbrauchsdichte auch eine vielversprechende Option f\u00fcr Japans Nachbarn ist.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201eKorea, Taiwan, Thailand und die chinesische K\u00fcste verwenden jetzt fl\u00fcssiges Erdgas, aber sie streben bis Mitte des Jahrhunderts null CO2-Emissionen an\u201c, sagt Nishimura. \u201eWir m\u00f6chten einen Beitrag zur Dekarbonisierung dieser L\u00e4nder sowie Japans leisten.\u201c<\/p><p>Die erfolgreiche R\u00fcckreise von Suiso Frontier ist ein bedeutender Meilenstein auf dem Weg zur Etablierung wirtschaftlich tragf\u00e4higer Lieferketten f\u00fcr den Wasserstoffmarkt, der in Zukunft weiter ausgebaut werden soll.<\/p><p>\u201eEs l\u00e4uft bereits die n\u00e4chste Phase des Projekts, um bis Mitte der 2020er Jahre einen Fl\u00fcssigwasserstofftr\u00e4ger im kommerziellen Ma\u00dfstab zu bauen, mit dem Ziel, Anfang der 2030er Jahre kommerziell zu gehen\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Nishimura.
