From 12 – 13 June, the Hydrogen Council and its members made the rounds through Washington DC, offering value perspectives on hydrogen energy and the role it could play in the U.S.

On 12 June, the Council was fortunate to participate in the 2018 National Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Forum hosted by the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association. Leaders from Hydrogen Council member companies 3M, Air Liquide, Toyota, Hyundai and Plug Power presented their global vision alongside our ground-breaking study, ‘Hydrogen, scaling up’. This was the inaugural presentation of the study in the U.S. and it was done before a packed room that included American government officials representing both Congress and the Administration, industry, think tanks, NGOs and international organizations.

On 13 June, several Council member companies participated in the 2018 U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program Annual Merit Review. Engie, Air Liquide and Toyota offered perspectives on opportunities and challenges related to hydrogen deployment around the world. The Council also took part in a roundtable with the DOE. The U.S. market is a key component of this global effort and the Council is working to deepen collaboration with American partners to develop specific support activities and boost progress.
